What do I need to start using my Emberpulse?

Before setting up your Emberpulse unit, please confirm you have the minimum requirements below:

  1. An active internet connection
  2. A router with working Wi-Fi connection
  3. A computing device such as a notebook, desktop computer, smartphone or tablet, loaded with a web browser such as Google Chrome or Safari
  4. Your computing device needs to have the ability to connect to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz frequency). A computer that is connected by cable to the internet will not work; a Wi-Fi connection is required.


Do I need to go through the installation setup process every time I want to check my home's power usage?

No, just once. After installation and setup, each time you log in to your Emberpulse account or use the Emberpulse mobile app, you will be able to check on your home energy usage.


How far can I have my Emberpulse unit from my Embermeter?

It depends on many factors, such as the amount and type of material between the two. Try to minimize the number of walls and other objects in a direct line between your Emberpulse and your Embermeter. Emberpulse has successfully tested to connections over 50 meters apart (160 feet).


My Emberpulse unit is continually disconnecting and reconnecting with my Embermeter. What should I do?

The signal between your Emberpulse unit and your Embermeter is being interrupted. Try the following:

  1. Try moving your Emberpulse unit closer to where your Embermeter is installed.
  2. Check that there are no large objects between your Emberpulse unit and where your Embermeter is installed.
  3. Check that a microwave oven is not between your Emberpulse unit and where your Embermeter is installed.
