How can I tell if I have a hybrid system installed?

  • Hybrid System:
    • Generally, your solar and battery installation would have been completed at the same time.
    • You will have only one inverter system installed that is connected to both the solar and battery.

  • Non-Hybrid System:
    • For these types of systems, the battery has usually been installed after the solar system was installed.
    • There will be an inverter for the solar system and an inverter for the battery system.

Why can't I see my battery details?

  • Currently the Emberpulse system is unable to support a hybrid solar system.
  • The Emberpulse system can only measure readings on the connection between the inverter and the house. It is unable to communicate directly with the inverter, which is the reason why you cannot see details such as battery charge and discharge information.

Why does my system show there is solar generation occurring at night?

  • Currently the Emberpulse system is unable to support a hybrid solar system.
  • The Emberpulse system can only measure readings on the connection between the inverter and the house. It is unable to communicate directly with the inverter, therefore it cannot determine if the energy being fed to the house is coming from solar generation or the battery.

When will the Emberpulse system be able to support hybrid systems?

It is anticipated that support for compatible hybrid systems will available in the near future.

What hybrid systems will be supported by Emberpulse?

It is anticipated that Emberpulse will be able to support the following systems*:

  • Solax
  • GoodWe
  • Fronius
  • SMA

*This list is subject to change if we encounter issues beyond our control.

What happens if my hybrid system is not on the supported list?

If you had an Emberpulse connected at the same time as your hybrid solar installation, please contact your solar installer.
